Missions

New Life Baptist Church contributes to the support of several missions locally and around the world.

Edgewood Children’s Ranch

Edgewood Boys Ranch was started in 1966 by John “Jack” Lynd as a residential facility for young boys who had exhibited negative social behavior due to family circumstances. Through prayer and loving care, boys were given a safe environment in which to change the direction their life was headed.

In 1968, a generous donation of 110 acres was given to be the permanent site for the Ranch. In following years, the Ranch added girls to its program and is now called the Edgewood Children’s Ranch.

Through this residential program for boys and girls ages 6-17, the Ranch today is able to accommodate more than 70 students at a time. Yet the methods and goals are the same as in 1966-love and prayer, bringing about changed hearts and lives.

Tabernacle Baptist India Missions

Even though NLBC supports world wide missions, Pastor Ware’s primary focus has been India for many years. India has probably more needs than any other place in the world, and is a land of opportunity for the Gospel as one of the world’s largest nations. Unlike most of the world, India is not a country of cities, but of 800,000 villages. Most people know little or nothing about Jesus Christ. These villages are reachable with the Gospel. There are almost no foreign missionaries in India as doors are closed to formal missions.

Our former Pastor Bob Ware started a large ministry in India with a children’s home along with a Pastors Training School where pastors can study under an American pastor for one month each year.

Berea Baptist Missions Mexico

Terry and Maria Burcham have been faithfully serving the Lord for over thirty years in Guaguachique, Mexico among the Tarahumara Indians.

They have recently challenged their church to do as much as they can to help with the building of a much needed new church building. The church has grown so much over the last several years that there is not enough room in the original church building. One way to encourage the people of the village to help was to buy a stone with their name on it to be placed in the sidewalk around the new church building. The foundation was laid and in four and a half days the building was built.
